Having some problems with NV silencer 5

I just installed the NV silencer 5 on my eVGA 6800 limited edition (flashed to a GT). A couple of things I noticed: my idle temps jumped from 48C/34C (core/ambient) to about 52C/38C and my load temps jumped from 61C/44C to about 70C/48C (nearly 10 degrees WTF?). Now, I'm looking at the temperature readings and they are jumping around erratically (like 54C to 155C and then back to 54C). I'm pretty sure I installed the silencer on properly and I even reseated it twice to make sure the heatsink made proper contact on the ram and gpu. I used the AC thermal paste for the ram and AS5 for the gpu. So, any suggestions on what might be wrong or is this perfectly normal? Thanks in advance.
