New to the forum. I'm hoping someone can help me out.

I'm running an A8N-SLI Deluxe mobo with 2x512 OCZ PC3200 memory sticks. Specs:

Model:
Brand: OCZ
Series: Enhanced Latency
Model: OCZ4001024ELDC-K
Type: 184-Pin DDR SDRAM
Tech Spec:
Capacity: 1GB (2 x 512MB)
Speed: DDR 400 (PC 3200)
Cas Latency: 2
Timing: 2-3-2-6
Voltage: 2.6V
ECC: No
Registered/Unbuffered: Unbuffered

Its been running fine for 3-4 months since I built the system.

I just bought a 1gb stick. Specs:

Model:
Brand: OCZ
Series: Enhanced Latency Platinum Series
Model: OCZ4001024ELPE
Type: 184-Pin DDR SDRAM
Tech Spec:
Capacity: 1GB
Speed: DDR 400 (PC 3200)
Cas Latency: 2
Timing: 2-3-2-5
Voltage: 2.6V
ECC: No
Registered/Unbuffered: Unbuffered
Heat Spreader: Yes
Features: Mirrored Platinum Heatspreader

I'm having a problem getting all 2gb to register. I updated the BIOS to the newest version. I've tried each stick individually to determine if 1 of them are bad and they all work ok. I've tried every combination of slots and the best I can get is 1-1/2gb.

Does anybody have any idea of what it could be before I decide to send this memory back?

Thanks!

Chris

my guess would be parity. your all ready running 2x512 at parity. don't think you can just add another gig chip in a single slot. think your 2GB configs on the A8n-SLi are limited to 4x512 or 2x1GB. originally there was an issue with support for 4x512 at ddr400, think that was cured with a bios update tho. i'd suggest 2x1GB anyways tho, since it leave room for expansion.

AFAIK, unless you have the Venice cored A64, your RAMs won't work in that configuration.
