Okay...I tried every single IDE remedy (switched cables, switched channels, switched master/slave, got rid of slaves, tried another DVD-ROM etc.) short of trying a different motherboard, yet the ATI player I have STILL reboots everytime I hit the maximize button. It doesn't seem to be a DirectX issue...dxdiags works fine when going into all of its fullscreen test modes. Its not a hydravision issue...Hydravision isn't even installed and there's only one monitor hooked up. This is a totally fresh install of Win2k with SP2 'slipstreamed'. After initial setup was complete, my install order was: 1) DX8.0a core update. 2) DX8 BDA/Digital Video update (required before ATI driver install) 3) VIA 4.32v 4in1 4) ATI driver software (drivers only) 5) SBLive! 5.1 software (drivers only) 6) ATI Multimedia Center. That's it!

My old thread on this topic is here
(note I've changed hardware config since then, latest config is below)

Besides the Anandtech forums, is there any other place I should go for help???

Hardware config is below:

AMD Tbird 1.33GHz at standard speed
Epox 8KHA - 'Normal' memory timings, everything else (incl. vio/vcore) standard
ACPI Enabled, PNP OS disabled...(either way didn't make a difference)
512MB Crucial ECC UNBUFFERED DDR (thought it was registered, but it isn't!)
40GB IBM 60GXP
Pioneer 106S 16x DVD
Plextor 12x10x32 CD-RW
ati Radeon VE - AGP Slot of course - latest official drivers
SB Live! value 5.1 (0060) - Slot 3 PIRQ_3 - CD Drivers (latest)
USR 56k 'hardware' modem (OEM 2976) - Slot 2 on PIRQ_2 - No Drivers installed yet
USB, Parallel, Serial all disabled for troubleshooting..
Win2k SP2 - Directx 8.0a and Digital video update, 4in1 4.32v
