Hi Guys,

I'm a computer science major at the univ. of maryland. I'm a junior and really need to build my resume now and get an internship. Even though I have a perfect 4.0 GPA, I have nothingggggg to write in the experience section of my resume !!!

Could some of you help me out, how should I write a nice starters resume....and if some of you want to be real nice, could you send me urs as a model, or just something I can look at to know what mine should look like.

Thankssss.

The Word Program I have shows samples of written material in the Template. You can also surf on the internet and get some samples.

Jeasus. FIRST, you have enough paid employees at that college who will practically write the damn thing for you. See them!

Second, you should not write a resume' until you discover the qualifications needed to get the job you seek. You have to target the resume to the company. Your accomplishments and education should match as many of the job requirements as possible. Despite what you might hear on the news about IT companies begging for workers, you are dead in the water if you send out a resume that lists abilities and accomplishments that the company does not need. The only exception to this is a mention (ONE OR TWO SENTENCES ONLY) of participation in clubs and community affairs--most employers want to know you have a sense of community.

Third, EVERYONE has valid computer experience that applies to the job, provided they have been interested in computers for a while. If you take the attitude that you will succeed, and a company out there is looking for someone just like you, you will find that job.

When I prepared resume's for people, I had the person list every class, accomplishment, and good deed they had done since they were in the 9th grade. Then I had them find the job requirements for the job they wanted, and had them match up the requirements with their experience.

Only THEN did I start work on the actual writing.

Do some research, on your own history and on the jobs you want, and then you will be ready to prepare a resume'.
