Having problems with NIC card in WinXP after VDO card install

Some info about my machine:

p3-550mhz
640MB SDRAM
WinXP Pro
TNT2 16MB AGP changed to a Radeon 8500LE
@home cable internet

Before I begin I'd like to state that everything was working prior to installing the Radeon. Once I booted up, the computer with the new card, I noticed I couldn't connect to anything on the internet. So I figured it was Comcast's fault so I called up their tech support and they asked me to go into Control Panel/Network Connections. Before the Radeon install, it used to say LAN connection or something to that effect, but now it says nothing. Even in the device manager, it didn't show a network adapter.

Since then, nothing I've tried has worked. A level 2 comcast tech told me it was a IRQ conflict so they couldn't help me. So I called up Newegg and they said I had to contact my motherboard manufacturerer. So I called up Abit and the guy told me he didn't think it was an IRQ conflict with the video card from the settings I had. So now I'm not sure what to do. A suggestion from the comcast tech was to restore my system, something I don't want to do, but will if I have to. Another idea I had was to try another NIC, but I don't have one handy and have to wait till tomorrow to get a new one.

The reason I think it may be the NIC card is that when I switch back to the old video card(TNT2), it still doesn't work. Anyway, if anyone could offer some solid advice on this problem, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Windows problem, restore with the tnt2 in, before you put the 8500 in get rid of all of the tnt's driver settings in registry and all of the nvidia files in your system32 folder

Your mobo's BIOS may have set the new Video cards irq to the same as the NIC's....I would check the IRQs in your system first.
You may want to uninstall the NIC, boot up....shut down again and reinstall the NIC into another PCI slot.
