Having problems with my Linksys BEFSR41 router

I am trying to use just the switch aspect of it right now, until cable modem becomes available next month. I want to share my current dial-up connection via the router.

I have an XP box and a Red Hat box. The RH box sees the router and logs-in to it just fine. The XP box claims to have a connection (lights up and detects a 100.0 MB connections according to the status) but denies that a router exists on the network and says that it is the only computer on the network.

Anyone have any issues with WinXP seeing this router?

Thanks,

Are you getting an IP address from it, or do you have a static address. Make sure all of your IP info is straight if you are having problems seeing everything else.

Yeah - you might want to make sure DHCP is clicked on - that'd be the easiest way to setup the network.

As for sharing the dialup - I used to use Analog-X as a proxy device to share the bandwidth. The reason why the router isn't sharing the bandwidth is b/c the information isn't being sent into the router directly, but rather, just from the line into the dialing in computer.
