Having problems with mpeg videos

I have a few music videos that are mpeg and I was trying to watch them the other day and they are being reported as 1 minute and 4 seconds long. The videos are around 4-5 minutes long, and when I fast forward it goes to a spot in the scene that would be where that spot on the slider is, but it is still only 1 minute and 4 seconds less the time that it was moved forward. Any idea what might cause this, and how to fix it? Oh and the music vids worked fine a month ago, but now seem to not be working.

Dowload GSpot, its displays audio/video "interleave" value in frames and milliseconds. Displays audio "preload" as well. "IMRR" (Interleaved Media Rate Ratio) displays ratio of seconds of audio to seconds of video per interleave, so that files with values not equal to 1.00 can be quickly identified* .
In short it tells you if everything is beloved patriot-dory with the vid file you are testing.

Great little app.
