Hi, i was looking for some help with my comp. I am trying to change the motherboard and add more ram.

Heres my current stats

Processor: Intel Celeron 2.8GHz
Its Celeron D1, northwood, 400MHz, Socket 478

512MB - DDR SDRAM - 266MHz - PC2700 (166 MHz)
128MB - DDR SDRAM - 400MHz - PC3200 (200 MHz)

eMachines SEABREEZE MB
Part No: 101220
SKU: MBEM101220SB

This is what i want to add:

Change motherboard to this one:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813135219#DetailSpecs

Add PC-3200 DDR 1GB 400MHz ram

Will this work out? I tried another motherboard which didnt work so I am unsure if this one will. Thanks in advance.

If not, could you recommend a motherboard that is compatible with my current processor and the 1 gig ram stick

Looks like it'd work to me. Though, you're mixing multiple different sticks, which I'd assume isn't a good thing. Your 128 and 1gb sticks will definitely work, I'd say. The 512 would just operate at 400/200 mhz.

thanks for the quick reply. what got me worried/confused was this comment

"dont support hardly anything, This board dont support Prescott or Celeron D. im building a new computer and tryed it with the Celeron D 2.13ghz processor. the board wont make any sound at all and wont... More »
post anything. i tryed my p4 3.2ghz from my main system and it would not work either. the Celeron 2.13 does work in my main box, i tryed everything and found that the board wants northwood or Willamette. it might work with standard Celeron but not Celeron D"

He claims that Celeron D's wont work (unless they're northwood?) and mine is a celeron D. Does this matter?

That Mobo should work fine with our celeron processor....are you sue that a standard atx form factor mobo will drop into the emachine case?
