Having problems playing DVDs in Windows XP

Me and my roommate have this barebones HTPC setup since we directly connect the TV to the computer when playing DVDs. We used to be able to do it easily now we have problems.

Certain DVDs like Super Trooper give me a message to change the resolution and the refresh rate and not matter what combination I do it will not play. Windows says I might not have a DVD decoder which is bullsh1t since I can play Lara Croft pretty well.

How can I get all DVDs to play? Is this some copy protection problem?😕

Something is up with your drivers/decoder... What video card do you have? I know for a fact that Radeon video cards and above have hardware DVD decoding, The Rage 128+ have DVD decoding in hardware as well.
