having problems doing a dual boot.

I have never done a dual boot before.. and i can't seem to get it to work

i have a 40 gig partitioned into 2 drives.. on the c drive i have windows ME installed and it is in fat32, on the other drive i have XP and it is ntsf.

windows is installed.. but when i boot up it just goes into me, isn't there a way so i can choose which to boot up

do i have to get a program or anything like that.. thanks for your help

Did you install WinME first and WinXP second? Check your boot.ini file also, does the boot loader even come up?

I'm sure that was supposed to say such but both seem to fit WinME, don't they?!? :)

Anyway...when installing XP (or NT/2k), you must install the other OS first. You might be able to attempt a repair on XP to see if that fixes it, but I'm really not sure. My guess is you re-sysed the drive with ME so XP is not using the boot menu at all. It is possible that you somehow configured XP to load ME by default with a wait cycle of 0. If that's the case, you just need to get to the boot menu and choose XP to fix it. You'll have to be quick, though.

I got it to work.. wasted 4 hours of my time.. because i just found out that windows me doesnt' support ati radeion mobility so i have to find hacked drivers.. but no one can help me there.. so

back to xp.. :(
