My computer freeze after like 2 hours when i open several internet explorer or play game or running any program and windows xp tell me that this file is bad or responsible for crash " NV4-disp" and also says that my video card cuse this error. I flash my motherboard to the latest BIOS , nothing change. MY ps is 300 w and have 100% copper cpu fan but i can't overclock. Please help me thanka alot

I too am using the 8kha+ with xp1700+ and gf2 gts (elsa gladiac).... what fsb are you setting? I was able to get 143 fsb with the voltage set at +.075 and the dimm voltage set to +.1. After that, I couldnt get it to boot properly as it was and I just stopped trying... I know it can be done if i just increase the voltage a bit more and mess with some settings

Increasing the voltage adds heat but also adds stability... so what I would do is increase the voltage bit by bit until you get the system running stable

people with this mobo and cpu can usually hit 145-150 fsb, but I havent tried that high yet as im still using the retail hsf

my earlier post may have been misleading -- when I said

<< After that, I couldnt get it to boot properly... >>

I meant that I wasnt able to push the fsb any higher than 143... right now it is running at 143 and perfectly stable

you resparked my interest in overclocking--

I put a different 60mm fan on my retail heatsink and bumped my fsb up to 145, it seems to be running just fine at 40C idle. I set the voltage to +.100v, this is the most you can set it at but it still isnt all that much... you arent gonna harm anything putting the voltage this much higher as long as you have proper cooling. I also have my DIMM voltage set one step up from default, I'm not sure if I needed to increase it but when I bumped the fsb up it automatically bumped the dimm voltage up one step so I left it.

Ever since I put this mobo in I have had the DIMM settings set to "turbo," i really dont think this has anything to do with how high you can overclock, if anything it makes it harder to overclock. Oh, and I'm using crucial pc2100 ddr if you care

Instead of upping voltages/decreasing fsb, have you tried new video card or motherboard drivers? If it says your video card is responsible, you might want see if a simple driver upgrade would solve the problem.

i know this seems to be the quick response to every problem, but make sure you have the 4-in-1s.... my friend had a pos gateway that kept getting bsod saying nv4disp.dll, we tried different drivers for his video card and a different video card, with no help

I put the voltage to the highest and overclock to xp 1900. running fine so far:) ! about drivers i update 4 in1 and nvidia before but i didn't do anything. So i think the voltage setting was the trik.anyway i am still testing . Thanks again i let you know if i got that problem again.

I have a AK31 rev3.1 mobo and I am able to run 1600+ at 1900+(actually 1.63GHZ) no problem, 155FSB.

CPU voltage is +0.025V, memory is most aggresive setting and 2.60V. Memory bench is around ~2300/s under Sandra 2002.

Advice: use artic silver and case w/ good ventilation(two cases fans at least). Epox mobo should be at least at good as shuttle:)

my o/c ability is crippled by 2 facts... first, im using retail hsf. second, my full tower aopen case doesnt have a fan hole in the case rear near the cpu! the only holes in the rear are above the psu to be used for cooling hdd's. ive been thinking about cutting a hole in the case rear (only room for a 60mm) but I dont have the tools to do it

get this -- my brother's xp1800+ system wont go any higher than 135 fsb because his enermax 350w cant handle it. the 5v rail goes too low and his gf4 wont function properly (it goes as low as 4.82 under medium load)

Congrats! The best I can get on my 1700+ with CPU @ +0.1V and DDRAM @ +0.1V is 10.5x and 150FSB, 11x and 142 FSB, or 11.5x and 138 FSB.

Kind of disappointing as these mean I'm barely reaching a 1900+.

im not sure why, but the best im able to get stable is 144 fsb on my 1700+.... im still using the retail hsf but the temps never get above like 44C

maybe someone can help me on this one... I have set the cpu voltage up to +.1v and the dimm voltage as high as +.3v but I still get random BSOD's while just surfin the web and stuff. sometimes it will be nv4disp.dll (detonators) crashing, sometimes it will be the driver for my 29160 crashing, sometimes it doesnt tell me what crashed. the only thing I can think of is a weak psu, but I dont think the 5v rail is getting dangerously low (maybe 4.90 minimum)

anyone have any suggestions?

im only using a 300w psu (400w had to be sent back, still waiting for it)

now that ive typed all this out im getting more and more sure that its the psu... its an older aopen 300w (2-3 years old, so its not amd approved) and my system has 3 cdroms, 3 hdds (1x5400,1x7200,1x10000), scsi card, sblive, 3com nic

Mee987, I've got an AX-7 heatsink and my 300W PS is under 6 months old and not particularly overloaded. Running as a 1700+ with 144FSB the computer spontaneously reboots after about 30 minutes of Sandra running benchmarks in the background, so I think the best I can get is 142. I suppose the power supply could be an issue, but perhaps we both just got poor performing 1700+ chips? ARMINTECH57, how strong is your PS?

Put your dimm voltage to the maximum and get the better heat sink. i had the same problem and same error massages. Also update you motherboard BIOS.Your room temp is important as well. GOOD LUCK
