now summer is approaching. it's getting warm outside.

i just started noticing, with the Pc under the desk, all the hot exhaust is trapped by the desk. there's nowhere for the hot air to go.

will this cause problems for the PC when it's summer and my room gets even hotter?

Yes you will have problems. My coworker has his computer in a desk and it overheats like mad. His whole desk is hot.

Don't know how your desk is but if it has that thin cardboard like wood on the back of it cut it out or try to just cut out some 80mm or bigger holes(depending on exhaust fan size) right behind your exhaust fans(PSU included). Problem solved.

I am in Florida and it gets very hot here in the summer. I just scraped off my old "Name Brand" Thermal compound an applied Shin-Etsu G749 (G765 will work) and my processor is now 15°F cooler than it was two weeks ago. It's great stuff if you can find it.

Monarch has it but they are over priced. Usualy it costs $2-4 for 1 gram but I cannot find my other saved links.

I think you know the answer! Of course it can overheat if not properly taken care of. I had the same problem but was stuck in a situation for about a month where I couldn't help it. PC still works great...and that was years ago. It shut down when the CPU overheated.
