I just bought an MSI MS-1651 barebones laptop: http://www.msicomputer.com/NB/....asp?model=MS-1651-ID2
so im pretty sure that the same battery has to be in these laptops: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...SrchInDesc=15.4&Page=1

Ive looked almost everywhere and can only find 6 cell replacements.

I was planning on looking on ebay and if this battery was that commonly used i could easily find a 12 cell.

What laptops share this same battery? Ive heard Asus, HP and a few others use the same battery.

If someone can find a 12 cell that will fit ill send them 5 bucks via paypal

EDIT: as long as its 12 cells, from a reputable seller, definitely fits, and is under $150 ill send you the money.

i saw that but im wondering if someone else makes a 12 cell. I know i was able to find one for my 900HA netbook made by someone other than asus.

Thats why i was hoping the battery was used in other laptops too because then id definitely be able to find one.

offers still on the table lol

but will it fit the MSI?

also ive heard of people kind of opening up the battery and putting more cells, or the cells of a different battery in. Would this be possible?

Probably not. Batteries are very proprietary. Does MSI have anything to say on the subject?

You have to be verry careful when doing this. Besides the circuitry, a worng hookup could mean an acidy explosion.

Just a thought - if you need more battery capacity, consider an external pack.
