Having issues with my optoma hd33 projector

If someone knows whats going on I would really apprciate it.

My issues are
1. Picture on the screen seems to be glaring at anything bright. (on all video settings)
2. I ocationally get a distorted picture Even the (hdmi input sign gets distored)
3. Sometimes the hdmi just doesnt work. I have to wait or play with the cords and it starts working again

Ok could this be a bulb issue? Is it a color wheel. Whats going on. If needed I could take pictures and post them.

I should mention to I am a heavy heavy smoker and took the unit apart when the Glaring started. and cleaned everything that was dirty. I have done this several times in the past and never had an issue before.

Is there another input you can try like VGA?

I have an HD33 also, and it loses HDMI handshake rarely and shows a blob of colors. I just restart the device and the projector.

What HDMI brand cables do you have, how long are they, and I assume they're going through a receiver first? Try plugging them in directly to your device. You won't get any audio, but you'll get video feed - if you're not having any problems, it could be your projector.

Don't smoke in the projector room.
