Having huge problems setting up wireless

Hi - hoping you can help me.

Im setting up a laptop (WinXP pro) with a wireless card, to connect to my desktop (2k pro) via peer to peer. I want to be able to get internet access to the laptop.

Ive got both cards installed, and they only connect for at most 1 or 2 seconds at a time, and the laptop drops the connection.

Ive turned off wep to get it going, and Ive setup SSIDs etc.

Any ideas?

Forget temporarily the Internet Sharing. Switch ICS Off and configure you Wireless to work.

You need to choose Ad-Hoc configuration with your cards.

Once you have a solid Wireless connection take care of the Internet Sharing.

:sun:

P.S. If you have Cable/DSL you much better off buying a Wireless Cable/DSL Router.

Thanks. Ive already got ICS off. I wanted to get the two machine talking first. but no luck yet.

I do (did?) have a router. It came off 2nd best in "Lightning storm versus DSL router". Im using a crappy USB dsl modem while I get my router fixed.
