Having digital A/C themometer/control panel vs. old analog

Our house has the old style analog a/c control (turning on/off ac/heater and temp control)

if we upgrade to digital ones like honeywell.. is there any advantages to it or save more money?

The nice thing about the digital ones is you can program different temperatures for different times of the day.
