So I'm planning on dual booting my new laptop with XP/Kubuntu. I used Partition Magic to repartition my HDD (didn't wanna lose data) and set up a 1.2GB Linux Swap, 5 GB Linux Ext3, 40 GB NTFS for Windows, and 10 GB FAT32 Recovery Partition (which I'll probably end up wiping out once I make some restore CDs).
So I boot up the Kubuntu CD, it boots into the live-off-the-disc setup, I start the installer, just skip over the manual partitioning (since my drive is already partitioned) and get to the mounting set up. hda1/hda2 are reported as my Windows NTFS and Recovery partition so I'm leaving those mounted at /media/hda2 and /media/hda2. I set my 5 GB ext3 to / and my 1.2 GB swap to swap. I hit next and bam, "No root filesystem." I'm confused. This should be incredibly simple, and I'm not sure why it isn't?
