I just restore my pc with a restore cd that came with my pc and this Registry errors always pop up..

STOP! WINDOWS REQUIRED IMMEDIATE ATTENTION.
windows has found 47 critical system errors!
to fix the errors please do the following:
1; download registry repair frm ms-fix.com
2 install registry repair
3run registry repair
4reboot your computer
failure to act now may lead to data loss and corruption.

what is this? some kind of scam ad? cuz i just restore my windows and this shouldn't exist, it's either spy-ware or for real? the error message list a few different websites to download the registry programs to scan for registry repairs, i downloaded the registrycleaner32 at registrycleaner32.com and after the scan its asking me to buy the program inorder to repair the errors.

???????

Yeah its some sort of pop up or spyware. Update windows and download adaware, microsoft antispyware, etc.

I've never gotten that ad before, but yes, it's definitely a popup or spyware. :-\ I wouldn't worry about the registry, but I would probably try to eliminate whatever it is that is causing that to happen.

That is most definitely spyware. You have some sort of junk running that's causing that popup, which then asks you to download more crap to further junk up your machine.....

Do you get the error message when you open IE, or does it just pop up anytime? It might be a 'browser helper object', use "hijack this" to check for that kind of stuff. Ad-aware is pretty good about flagging this kind of stuff, but it can't always remove it for you. At least it will tell you what's infected the machine.

Also, run MSCONFIG and look at the list of apps that runs on startup. Check out any entries that you don't recognize (or post them here and we can review it). Also, run task manager and google every EXE thats running on the machine. I bet you one of them is spyware....

It's not spyware. You're getting spoofed via your Messenger service. If you disable it (which you should do anyway for security reasons as you can now see), you won't get the message anymore.

With Admin rights, go into Control Panel --> Administrative Tools --> Services. Right click on Messenger, disable it, reboot.

yeah, i think i installed the DSL apps that require me to connect to the internet, since my router's been disconnecting lately, I just connect my dsl modem to my pc, but require installing the dsl apps, everytime i connected to the internet it require's you to use the apps like a 56k log in app.
I dont get the error though IE, it just pop-up everywhere like within every few mins.

No, messenger chat client is different than messenger service.

Follow the directions he said to disable messenger. If it happens again, take a screen shot, and let us see it.

No. The Messenger Service has nothing to do with the chat client, MSN Messenger or Windows Messenger. You can read about Messenger Service here. You can d/l the software program to disable it if you want to although, IMO, it's easy enough to disable it.

BTW, I'm not saying that you're not otherwise infected since Messenger Service can be used to propogate little nasties on your computer. Also, I'm wagering that the message that you're receiving has "Messenger Service" on the top bar, yes?

Edit: Just saw that GeekDrew answered your question - so much for good reading skills...;)
