A little background info. I recently reformatted and reinstalled Xp PRO because my computer was bogging down and i was having some issues. Reinstalling everything went smoothly. I went and got all of my necessary updates but one of them caused a bit of an issue...it was an Nvidia update and since i have an Nvidia GeForce 4 MX420 i guess it messed with the drivers. Well, anyway, so i would boot up and on my screen would say "out of range". On the advice of a friend i went into the Run>MSCONFIG>BOOT, and set the boot to BootVideo (i think?). Well, now everytime i restart the computer it keeps trying to make my screen resolution like then 800x600 (I typically like 1024x768. Is there anyway i can make it stay at this resolution permanently?

Thanks for any help.

Huh? I'm not even sure what your problem is.

I don't know what you did in MSCONFIG, but it probably is telling it to boot up with some safe default video mode. Turn that off.

If you're still having problems, uninstall and reinstall your video drivers (you might need to use Driver Cleaner if they are screwed up somehow).

Could you maybe rewrite that sentence in English? I'm unsure what "like then 800x600" means.

Like I said, undo whatever you did in msconfig, and try reinstalling the drivers (and/or using Driver Cleaner) if that doesn't fix it.
