I have a ASUS P4B533-E motherboard. When I enable the onboard Intel LAN, there is a serious system slowdown. With it disabled and driver uninstalled, it is better. When I use the RAID function. I have a system semi-freeze for a couple a seconds every 30 seconds. I installed the FAST Track Utility and disabled the SMART check function. Still gives me a problem when I am copying a file from the primary IDE to the drive thats on the RAID channel. There is only one drive, but it was auto configured as a RAID 10 setup. I can't find any documentation on why this is.

Let me know if you have an idea what the problem is.

I have read that setting "PNP aware OS" to off in the BIOS solves some of your type of problems.

did you do a fresh install of your OS when you upgraded your hardware--and is this problem evident in Linux (your sig says you use it)
