Having a problem with IE6 & Windows XP

I'm new to windows xp, still trying to get use to it... I've been trying to save picture files but when I right click and click "save picture as" it always saves it to a Bitmap file and I can't change the format. I can't save any animated gif files. Anyone know how to save all files?

clear your temp files and try again. Unknown to all windows version. But clearing the internet cache fixes it.
