hey guys... ive bought a 512mb stick of Corsair ValueSelect.... its pc3200 400Mhz, 184-pin DIMM and Cas-3.... i have a Dell Dimension B110 and it only has 1 256 stick...all the tech stuff ther is right, but the comp runs the stick at 333Mhz cuz of the fsb i guess? but when i open my computer and look at the stick...the label says pc3200 and 400mhz yada yada...

anyway, when i put the stick in and start up my comp, it reads it and tells me the system memory has changed... great i hit F1 to continue...........then nothing....just a black screen forever and never gets to loading windows....but the bios changes and says 768 total....

plz help...i dont got much time to return the stick if it wont work

Some of the Dell PC's have instructions in the bios for it to go looking to see if the right brand of memory is installed. This is an artificial and unneded limitation put there by Dell in some cases to try and get you to buy RAM from Dell. What brand of RAM came with the PC? I'm guessing Kingston, correct?
