Having a problem booting into Windows 2000

When you boot into win2k, a rectangular box pops up and says
starting windows 2000. Then its say preparing network connections.

For some reason it stays at this screen for a long time.

Then i get an error message: (not verbatim)

There was an error loading c:\windows\system32\services.exe due to and error 128.
Windows will now reboot in 1 minute. Then there is a count down

ANyone know what wrong?

Well,
Did this just start happening randomly? Have you changed anything? Have you tried booting into safe mode? Have you scanned for viruses recently? Any more info would help.

If you did install anything new, just go into safe mode and remove that program. Another option is to select boot from last good boot. Or something like that.
