Having a Party saturday, I need a program that'll remove some access to my system.

Basically it's a huge party at my house, and I don't want people deleting files or installing viruses onto my computer. Just something nice and effective, maybe a simple password lock would do the trick. I still want Net access and my start menu, just without the permissions to delete files/install.

Should I just activate the guest account in WinXP and use that instead?

edit: whoops, wrong forum... I'm an ATOTer and I naturally posted this in OT without thinking. 🙁

Never mind...I'd start the computer in your account, play your music, and then hit WIN + L to lock it. You'll need your password to unlock it.

What kind of party has people at a PC? 😛

The only computer on at my parties is the MP3-playin box downstairs. No keyboard, no mouse. I Remote Desktop in from a secured location (upstairs) if I have to do major stuff (edit playlists) but for the most part I just use my housemate's ATI Remote Wonder. Damn, that thing's a dream.

Bingo. Only reason then I'd need to unlock it is if I have to download more songs.

Thanks !🙂
