having a hard time picking a 19 LCD

I wont be playing any games or watching video, but i cant really get a good look at the 19 choices and see how they each look, as the stores always seem to have a crazy video playing on em all.

The samsung 914v seems cheap but reviews dont seem to be that great.
The newer Samsung seems to have better specs but does speed matter for text? I don't think so..
Dell E1905FP, but where to see one in person?

What's good in the $300ish range?? Any reason to spend more? Its just a good image I'm after.

I just cant decide what to get. 🙁

I have just got Viewsonic VX922 a week before and I must say this is the best screen among all in terms of image clarity, color and speed as well.

This is basically an all round great monitor also in terms of black is deep black !
There is no washed effect in any part when displaying black wallpapers etc.

So I guess you should either go with Viewsonic VX924 or VX922 ( Both models are close/similar )

I hope this helps you in short-listing models.
 
I have the Samsung 914v.
It was a Black Friday Staples buy at about 200 bucks.
I took the first back because of a bad pixel in the middle of the screen, the replacement had two bad pixels but are on the side and I don't notice them.
Aside from the pixel issue it is an excellent monitor in all aspects.
It's my second Samsung and I'd endorse it without pause.
