Having a dilemma between display and GPU..

I bought the Acer XB270HU IPS version and a gtx 970.. my dilemma is whether I should return the monitor for something cheaper and get a 980ti... it's just that the monitor is so lovely. please help!

You have an excellent monitor, keep it. Save your money for another card. Consider a used 980 Ti.

Newer faster graphics cards keep coming out all the time, but a good monitor lasts for many years.
Keep your current setup and get a faster GPU when you can/need it.
