Havent kept up with AMD, need advice in a hurry..

Visiting my father for thanksgiveing and he seems to have his heart set on an amd board, someting socketed, duron 1gig or better. He dosent game, just does alota scanning, graphics, utility stuff. What's well thoguht of as far as motherboards go now? Thanks for any info....

Checkout anandtech's review on the kt266a chipset. Any of those boards would be a good way to go.

Yep, KT266A is the way to go. For someone who doesn't have specific needs, any of them will do. ECS K7S5A is also a pretty good value IMO.

Any AMD solution will give your dad what he needs, but if you want the fastest chipset available for slightly more than Sis and cheaper than nForce, go with KT266A.
