I think this movie has major promise of kicking arse

Maybe not with the story but with the special effects.

I guess some think it's 'badass' that he just picks up a motorcycle and smacks someone on the head with it, but I think it looks incredibly stupid, just as most of the other special effects shown in the preview.

are you guys expecting to go in and see great acting from jet li or something? it's an action movie, and a jet li one at that (crazy/flying/dramatic special kung fu/effects etc).. i think it looks great for what it is.. and just because it uses bullettime doesnt mean it's like the matrix

in his HK films, he's put in a little acting....he's not always the stern unapologetic killing machine that his American films portray him to be.

Well, the truth of the matter is that I'm probably the stupid one here, as I'll probably go to see it regardless of my criticisms.

The effects may look silly (in my opinion), but I haven't seen a decent action movie in a while and this one might be pretty good.
