Have your parents done anything weird?

My mom and step dad bought about 20 acres of land(on a hill mind you) tha will somehow be used to :
a)Provide retirement income
b)Be an organic farm
c)Free range animals (Doesn't that conflict with b?)
d)A wind farm

at the same time. How this is going to work I have no idea. All I know is that a isn't going to work because it seems some is trying to ignore common sense economics. If you sepend 20 per plant on some special fertilizer and you have one vegtable out of all those, it seems kind of a loss to me.
 
Nah, my parents are relatively normal.

Funny, how things work though. I used to (late teens - early 20s) think they were two of the strangest people on the planet.
 
ok for serious this time, my parents bought some land in Mexico. I don't know why, or what they plan on doing with it. I don't think they know either. After years of being against the stock market, they finally "gave in" and put like $1000 in mutual funds or something. They've probably almost made a dollar by this time.

Not yet, but they are getting there. It's isn't just me though. I can give you a list of ten people that would confirm they are strange.
 
My wife's parents were members of a cult... she was raised in a commune till 5, when here Dad busted out. He's now a card carrying republican fanboi, and his ex-wife is a earth-wolf-hippie-mother...

they're nuts but a lot more likeable than my own parents who are just basket cases. 🙂
 
When these last couple of Hurricanes hit our house down here in Florida, some of our shingles flew off. My mother decided to do her own home-repairs and started nailing shingles down on the roof.

Where did she get those shingles? Other shingles blown offfrom our neighbor's roof.
