people love their children very much. but they believe a stripper, with an autistic baby, has more experience than scientists.

I think this is less of a vaccine conspiracy thing and more of the fact that its not a required shot. Opt-in rates of many optional things are very low for things like this.

Mostly just lack of education, information and awareness. I bet a good portion of the US couldn't even tell you what "HPV" stood for let alone that there was a vaccine for it.

I consider myself somewhat educated but even I didn't know that it was recommended for males as well. I thought it was something primarily for females. Never even considered that they suggest teenage boys to get it too.

Better not take grandma in for her chemotherapy because big pharma makes money off those drugs.

My wife's cousin is an anti-vaccination nut and my wife, a nurse, mercilessly hammers on her every chance she gets about it. It's hilarious to read their exchanges on Facebook.

My children get vaccinated and that will include the HPV vaccine.

I did not, for my daughter. The reason was, the doc was not insistent enough, was not able to explain why it was needed, nor if the 'infection' was bad enough.

<sarcasm>"Someone I know told me that you can catch the disease itself from it and that it causes ass cancer later in life. Screw that! It's a conspiracy for big pharm to get rich and watch us die trying to live!!!"</sarcasm>

I am firmly convinced that most people spend more time online researching what Kim Kardashian has been up to than something important like the medical welfare of their own flesh and blood.

Just had a baby boy and we are definitely getting all of the vaccinations. Well maybe not HPV, but whatever. The wife and I are big fans of the miracle of modern medicine.

Then again, that stripper sure makes a compelling argument. . .

He didn't explain that whether somebody is symptomatic or not, the HPV virus is the primary cause of cervical cancer?

Cervical cancer is almost 100% curable/preventable with yearly exams for a woman. Many doctors are not recommending this vaccine.

Screenings? Yeah, so's prostate cancer.

But if there was a vaccine that would get me out of those exams, I'd inject it into my own scrotum.

When this vaccine came out I remember talking to my Sister about it to make sure my Nieces' were vaccinated. She agreed.

I agree the vaccine sounds great on paper, but one should look into why doctor's are not recommending this one.
