Because I believe that kids deserve to be raised in a 2 parent household with a Mother and a Father. I would not want my child, yes it is my child because it will have my genes, growing up in a single parent household, or in a 2 parent household where the parents are of the same sex.

 
why do I have the sinking feeling that there'll be a "Apply to be the father of my child who I will donate" thread?

Only if I was sorely in need of money would I consider it. The idea of donating sperm and having a kid 30 years come back doesnt sit well with me. Don't get me wrong but I dont trust anyone that I wouldnt know to raise a kid that is part me.

I almost did freshman year cause I was so short on cash, and they were payin like $100 a donation.... then I thought of this and refused.....
 
nah, wouldn't want to be a father and not know the kid, if you get meh [and yea, i know, it takes more to be a father then biological reasons etc]
 
Can kids born this way ever find out who the donor was? It's not like adoption where once you hit 18 you can get your records is it? I don't know anyone that's conceived this way but the thought of someone coming back in 20 years would be kind of freaky. Especially if he turned out to be a dork and blamed it on me. heh.
 
I don't see how it's my place to stop the world from having thousands of people that take after me. I'd like to, but the Earth and future generations need me. Can't shirk my responsibility.
