Have you tried decompression therapy?

Title says it all.
Apparently chiropractics has a new machine that decompresses the disk area causing the disk to pull back in as well as drawing nutrients and moisture back in to the disc itself.
I'm not a big believer in chiropractors but was wondering if anyone had tried the machine?

my chiro has one but i havent used it, its very expensive to use and insurance will not cover it.

A very good friend of mine was the chiros first patient on it. in fact she was the training patient that the manufacture reps uses to train the chiro and his staff.

that was two years ago and she has not had her buldging disk return.

I have a buldging disk in my lumbar and in a lot of pain right now, i wish i could afford to get on that machine.

oh Edis is in chiro school and will be trained on it pretty soon. he proably would reply to this thread but he got a week vacation yesterday.

there are some pictures of the decompression machine on my chiros website.

yeah. my insurance doesn't either but if it did significantly help, still might be worth it?

So essentially a hyperbaric type of machine? Full hyperbaric chambers are used all the time for bent divers, sports injuries and burn victims. They do help with accelerating the healing process and reducing recovery time. But yeah, super super expensive. I believe that there are some sort of portable devices for various sports injuries, but I'm not positive...maybe this machine is like that?

Anyway, the technology is sound and has been around for some time now. I imagine actual back doctors might make use of them for various reasons, as well as reputable chiropractors. It just seems like it's so hard to find a chiropractor that isn't full of BS though.

Oh, if the OP's talking about something like that DRX9000 or whatever, that's definitely not what I'm thinking.

I've been somewhat fortunate over the years, in that MOST of the chiro's I've had were good honest practicioners. I HAVE hit a few of the old "chiro can cura EVERTYTHIG" types, but I didn't return to those, UNLESS he did a good job cracking the back.
We have one chiro here who uses the DRX 9000 as well, and it runs about $175/visit. Like most people, my disability insurance won't cover it.
