I'm the same, except my family is very greatful and they will never use me for it. I've told my neighbors to "suck it" on numerous occasions.

I finally got smart and told everyone "I'm going into the pc repair business as a sideline because I have no money, I'll charge reasonable rates and rake in business." Now that they know I won't do it for free, NOBODY calls anymore.

I got my family all set up with stable systems and automatic update, virus scan, etc. Anytime they want to upgrade I tell them they don't need to. ;)

Family friends or people outside the family pay my $50 an hour, 3 hour minimum, and since I put that billing rate into effect people manage to figure out the little sh1t on their own. :laugh: Some pay it though and that pays for the :beer:

Tim hates it when his family asks. It's really hard to do it for family and friends because they usually have unreasonable expectations. They want you to do it NOW and not just teach them.....just do it.
