Yep - my heinous crime was that I didn't pay a speeding ticket. So they threw me in jail. Between the cops, the impossible job market and the gangs of drunk frat boys beating up every townie they could catch alone, growing up in a college town was always a riot.

I spent a lot of hours in the Juvenile Detention Center last year but not as an inmate. That is the closest I have ever been to the inside of a jail.

we had a trip like that in high school too. i'm not sure what the intended goal was, possibly to scare us? anyway, we walked through the jail and saw the inmates living it up like kings, and then one of the guys behind bars shouted out to one of my classmates. it turned out that she was an ex of his. that was kind of strange.
