That's just plain stupid, I've unlocked my iphone countless times with ziphone. No problems evar (6mos and going). Quit spreading BS.

I like to spread BS and blind fanboyism, isn't that what message boards are all about?

Whats the easiest most foolproof way to unlock/jailbreak a 16GB 1.1.4 iphone? I've jailbroken mine but haven't done any research on unlocking.

Easiest is probably iLiberty+, most foolproof is the Pwnage tool.

Whatever method you choose, the ground should not be tread lightly. I would advise research into both methods so that you understand how each works, and what they actually do to your iPhone. Because afterall the very last thing you want is to run into a snag and not understand how or why it's happening.

Out of curiousity, if you bought an iPhone, signed up for AT&T iPhone service and then sell your phone, do you still have to pay for the AT&T iPhone service plan, or can you revert to a cheaper plan while you wait for whatever next thing that Jobs has up his sleeve?

I'm sure you can revert, why not. But, this is why I stay away from contracts, all this contractual stuff.
