I need to re watch now that I'm older. The last few Van Damme movies I've watched have not aged well as they now seem like typical cheesy 80's early 90's action flicks. When I was younger they seemed like the greatest movies made.

The movie was based on a true story of Frank Dux. I was actually friends with his brother over seas. The Kumite was not really held in Hong Kong like the movie depicts, but in the Bahamas at a private residence.

that's what I look for when watching a van damme movie.
They were cheesy even when I watched them as a kid. Still liked them though.

OMG... Van Dam makes an appearance in everything from the 80's. He was the bad guy in No Retreat\No Surrender as well.

I've watched Breakin a billion times, and never noticed the above... lol.
