After riding Splash Mountain the other day, I got curious about the movie and why its never been released. Saw all the info about the controversies...

Despite rumors of a forthcoming DVD release, Disney CEO Robert Iger stated on March 10, 2006 at a Disney Shareholder Meeting that it had been decided that the company would not re-release it for the time being.[18] At the annual shareholders meeting in March 2007, Iger announced that the company was reconsidering the decision, and have decided to look into the possibility of releasing the film.[19] In May 2007, it was again reported that the Disney company has chosen not to release the film.[20] However, rumors to the contrary continue to surface.[21]

I've never seen it myself, but I'm really curious to. I've sung 'Zip a de doo da' all my life, but have yet to see the movie where it comes from.

Have you seen it?

Maybe you 'saw' it when you were too young to remember and that's why you know the song? Anyway, the only place I've ever found it was on BT or news groups. Kind of sucks that you can't just go out and buy the thing.

I'm pretty sure I've seen it. Not sure how, but I think my dad had a VHS bootleg of it.

Yes, I've seen most of it.

Racism is hilarious and fun.

What part did you consider racist? Do you consider "Little Black Sambo" racist? If so, why?

It's a great movie. I don't see the problem with it.....it depicts some things as they were. No need to act like things weren't a certain way, just because they are different now.

Same here ... I also remember seeing it in the theater as a kid.

Me, almost. No kids, but have played it for my nieces & nephews.

Yes and I laughed when I saw it before. Change it back!

I also saw this movie in the early 80's in the theater. I don't even remember it.
