Have you seen firefighters collecting money at intersections for last week's events?

I saw a fire truck parked in the street with it's lights on and firefighters on all four sides holding boots in which to collect the money. I can't say how successful their effort was but at the time I was stopped at the light, there were people honking left and right so they could donate some money, including me :). I also saw a guy put some money into the boot and shake the firefighter's hand. Seeing that kind of made my day

I believe the firefighters, cops and their families are already well taken care of financially by now. (Emotionally is another matter, :( )

I suggest giving to fund that will help the other 5000 victim's families. Most of which will not be getting a $150,000 payout from the city of NY, and the proceeds from all the firefighter and police fund raisers.

Some of these poor familes have lost their sole bread winner. Have any of you seen the Larry King interview with the CEO of Canter Fitzgerald? That poor guy. He lost 700 employees and is doing everything he can to make sure their families are provided for, but doesn't have the funds to do it himself.
