No. But when attempting to chase down one to finally get to see one, I was heading down a road it was supposed to be crossing. I suddenly hit a section of road that was covered in shredded leaves blowing everywhere. The wind was so high that the water coming off the tires of the car in front of me wasn't going backward at all - it was spraying out sideways from the tires. In less than 1 second, the wind direction shifted 180 degrees. All I can surmise is that I was *very* close to the tornado (like possibly under it), but never saw it.

I have never seen one.

And I don't care how morally wrong it is to do so, but I seriously wish one will drop down every time we get a tornado warning, because I want to see one.

Personally I want to chase one in the country and get some photographs, but that just takes a lot of luck if you don't have the equipment to follow the weather conditions.

Where's the poll?! Did a tornado pick it up and fling it into another thread? :p

Never saw it, but an F4 touched down about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile from the apartment that we used to live in. This happened about 20 years ago but here is what I remember:

We lived on the side of the building facing away from the tornado, and we could only see clouds and rain for a bit. Within a minute, the sky went from normal rainy afternoon to pitch black. Then suddenly, there was a wall of leaves and swirling debris that was flying by the window and it sounded like a freight train was going by next to the front door. I've lived within 30 yards of a busy rail route and the tornado was MUCH louder than that. You could feel the walls shaking on all sides...the entire building was moving and flexing. This lasted for a number of minutes and gradually diminished. The temps dropped insanely fast...from no jacket required to snowing in a couple of hours.

I have no desire to be that close to anything like that ever again.

Well, this kindly Robert gentleman called me a "homo" by PM. My guess: returning troll, or a random spammer/idiot.

I feel so special that he decided to PM me. :D

lol

Yeah he called Nik a homo in another thread. Definitely a returning troll.

Personally, I like the mystery and challenge as the race for identifying said troll intensifies. I look forward to this new game.
