I read it a LONG time ago. I know I liked it then but I really don't remember much about it at all.

I thought it was alright, wasn't as gripping as I would have hoped but still a good read

I liked it. Took me a little while to get used to the style of writing and dialogue, but I was hooked before I got half-way through.

I really think everyone under 20 should read it (well everyone should read it, it's a classic).

Does the book end with the little brother playing on a merry go round? If so, that is all I remember.

I am in Maryland and I haven't any idea why it got banned. While I don't recall much about it, I do recall that I liked it. Heck, when I was in HS, we read Voltaire's Candide (which was quite risque).

Funny thing is, the school's still include To Kill a Mockingbird in their curricumlum and that has racist themes in it.

So in answer to your question, I don't know why it was banned. Too weird. I never bothered investigating because there are so many OTHER books that my kids have been required to read.

I do not think To Kill a Mockingbird was ever banned by any school. I don't even recall that book being very controversial either
