Yeah, and I got my ass kicked by a bunch of 13 year olds with better twitch reflexes than me. I felt a bit motion sick after playing for 30 minutes as well.

I guess that I'm too old for FPS games now.

I've been playing since around Season 3 (so John Wick skin era), I play almost every day with friends.

Judging from what my 16 year old nephew tells me, other than leveling, they primarily only care about skins and looking good. He works a part-time job only to support his habit of buying skins. And he won't admit how much he's already spent. One of my 10yo also plays while the other doesn't but knows all about the dances, gear, etc. I think kids just do what other kids are into rather than play something that's actually good (same with Roblox and previously Minecraft).

Some of us care about how good we are at the game so we can stomp a bunch of newbies (competitive factor). Skins are cool and all but it doesn't denote skill level.

Nope. Never really been into the survival style games. Although, Fortnite does appear to be less camp-n-win, which is what I dislike. That's certainly a viable tactic still, but it seems like most tend to lean toward being more aggressive... or at least that's what I see on streams.

I'm an avid Overwatch player and decided to give Fortnite a try. I didn't know what the hell I was doing, as I ran around the island trying to collect weapons and ammo. The whole fort building thing is....interesting. The funny thing is that although I didn't manage to kill anyone, I actually won the game. No idea how that happened and haven't played it since.

I might try it. I'm kinda bummed out that the new UT is taking a back seat because of it though, was playing the alpha with anticipation that it will continue getting more updates and now it's stalled. It's the same dev team that does Fortnite. But knowing that... I imagine Fortnite must be rather well done.

Funny you mention UT. I just downloaded it the other day and was about to start playing it again. This game has been in alpha for years...? I was heavy into UT back in the day.

Yeah new one has been in Alpha for a while now, UT3 seems to be the "default" goto for now as far as the finished game goes.

I was traveling on business a few weeks back and hit up a mall with a Microsoft store. They had a few Xbox Ones with Fortnite going being actively played by teenagers. It was the first time I had seen it, but had heard about it.

Battlefield 2 and a few mods was what I used to play the most of and it was CounterStrike and CounterStrike Source....Before that....Unreal, Half Life, Quake, Duke Nukem, Doom, etc...then I sort of grew up from those games. I never cared for console controllers unless I was doing sports because a mouse just tracks faster in FPS games to look/aim.

Last night, I was on my Xbox One and thought about downloading it, but read reviews and saw a demo video...I decided I don't want to waste my time with it. I don't feel like playing online against kids that are better than me until I improve and don't want to go through the anguish of learning how to build stuff. I never played minecraft.

Nope although I've thought about giving it a shot. But I don't really play any games anymore and I'd get totally rekt by all the kids anyway. I usually see some gameplay of it on LevelCapGaming's weekly "This Week in Gaming" videos on YouTube.

The oddest thing on the PC Fortnite game, is one of the greatest arena shooters is free to download and play. I honestly never knew Fortnite was an option on the epic games launcher for more than a year.

I downloaded the mobile version last night, and the PC version today. Gonna give it a try. I've played a few matches but it's been a painful learning process. I thought there was more to it than what i've done so far.

I tried it when it came out on switch. Didn't really get it, thought the controls were sloppy, so I stopped playing it. Went back to losing my life to rocket league

I just tried Paladins which just was released for the switch too, and I like that one quite a bit.

I play regularly, usually 50v50. One of my favorite tactics is to drop behind enemy lines, lay in hiding, ambush a few stragglers and then flank the enemy lines. Works even better if I find a silenced pistol and bush.

The other thing I will often do is load up on sticky bombs and suicide attack the enemy fortifications.

Other times I just play as the team builder and erect these elaborate structures to clutter the battlefield and confuse the enemy team.

I die often at the hands of 10 year olds.
