Is it just me or are spectacles uncommon nowadays? Sometimes, I feel like I'm the only bespectacled one in public.

Glasses here
Tried contacts years ago, they didn't suit me. I have quite the aversion to putting my fingers in my eyes. They also provide at least a minimum of eye protection.

Contacts.

Actually I can only think of a handful of people in my school that wear glasses anymore.

I only wear glasses when I drive. Every other time I just don't care enough to see anything clearer... 😛

Same here. I got tired of messing with contacts. Besides, glasses improve the appearance of my mug 🙁

Actually one of my friends got contacts in 8th grade, wore them for 4 days, and never touched them again. Weird.

I wore contacts exclusively for about 7 years. I gave them up a few years ago for glasses because I just got tired of dealing with them.

Cheap LASIK has let many people stop wearing them

I'm waiting a few more years before I let someone cut open my eye and burn off parts of it, maybe they'll get the 3% "problem" rate down to 0.3% or 0.03% by then.

i still wear glasses

i tried contacts a couple times and had problems

i figure i'll try the eyeball laser thing in 2-5 years, maybe

I wear glasses. I used to wear contacts by my eyes just get too irritated. The eye doctor says that my eyes aren't really cut out for contacts.

I used to have 20-20 vision, but I think all the hours I spend on the computer killed that. In two years it went from 20-20, 20-25, to 35-45 or something crappy like that. I can read text CLOSE perfectly (eg. my computer, a book.) but I can't read text far away. I ended up getting -1 contacts for both eyes.

It sucked for the first week, it took me 30 minutes to put them in! Now I only wear them on days I don't work. (Because I stare a computer for 8 hours)

I'd have to wear a monacle 😛 I have one good eye and one bad, and the difference would probably make normal glasses fall off my face.

I'm still thinking of trying out contacts when it comes time to get my glasses replaced. I just don't think I'd like the hassle of taking them out, putting them in, and the little bit of work that comes along with them. I'm kind of lazy like that.

I wear both. Some days I don't feel like bothering with the contacts, other days I do.

Same here.
I just started wearing contacts (within the last 2 weeks).
Probably going to end up 50/50 wearing contacts/glasses.
