yep, guy at work bought one specifically due to mileage it gets. Not sure how many years it will take to get a ROI, but it makes him feel better...

Yeah I lol at people who flip out over gas prices and finance a new vehicle or motorcycle to save on gas a month. My motorcycle seems like it's getting horrible mileage, I don't know what the deal is.

One of my friends was trying to justify buying a motorcycle telling me how it will pay for itself with gas so high.

Some people just don't listen.

Motorcycle and scooter sales especially are up and increasing at a rapid rate.

You do have dumb people financing motorcycles but at least it's cheaper than a car.

LOL I would never be caught riding a scooter. I saw a guy and woman on a big decked out scooter, I know they had to pay a buttload for that nerdmobile, enough to have gotten a much better streetbike

Yes, bicycles too.
Last Thursday I got a call at home that there was a fatal mc wreck on one of my highways. When I got out there the rider was dead. A woman (possibly drunk) had crossed the center line and hit him and sheared off his left leg. He bleed to death with a minute I hear. He was a co worker from Truckee. :(
RIP, Greg.

bro its summer, and people RIDE motorcycles, they dont DRIVE them

I loaded mine into the back of my truck and take it to work with me, so I do drive a motorcycle. I haven't seen an increase in gas mileage from doing this, I'm not sure what the deal is.

You can buy a brand new Suzuki SV650 for $6200 OTD that gets 48mpg city. Used you can find them for half that. Mopeds are even cheaper and get even better mileage, dealers can't seem to keep them in stock though. You do the math.

In my city, scooter sales have started increasing for certain. There used to be only one or two dealers...now there are more springing up every few months. I personally think scooters are dangerous unless you get one that will do at least 80mph without breaking a sweat... Most drivers assume that scooters will do 40-60mph easily.....too many are underpowered and the riders are overweight.

A good 650-750cc bike is on my list of wants in the next 5 years, but I don't know if I'll be able to talk myself into getting one.

This happens every summer regardless of gas prices.

Though I do hear that bike and scooter dealers are doing brisk business these days.
