Have you gotten the Flu this year more than last year? I got it 2 times im guessing within 1 months (counting the days to equal a month). Its spreading fast im guessing because of schools and public buildings. I caught both of the cases at school from kids who have/had (had b/c they still coughing and droplets are going everywhere in the classroom.) Anyways how about you and next year im going for the flumist medicine.
 
havent got it

at most i usually get a bad cold....sore throat and a rough cough for 3 or 4 days, but not much more than that

Just about the same here. Except when I do get sick, I'm usually hospitallized and it's some mutant flesh eating monkey virus from zaire.

A lot of people have never had the flu, and without reference to what it actually is think they've got the flu each time they get a cold. Also there's the extra confusion of that so called "stomach flu" which isn't the flu either.

Turns out I've only had it once. That was 3-4 years ago. Up until then I had thought bad colds were the flu too, but as I described elsewhere .... When it feels like you're taking a deep drag on your 200th cigarette of the day every time you take a breath, when you're exhausted tieing one shoe and need a five minute break before attempting the other, when you're in a permanent crouch so the coughing doesn't hurt quite as bad, when you have to sleep sitting straight up because any incline makes it too hard to breathe and when a sip of water is a meal, then you have the flu.

Of course it varies by individual and some strains are worse than others, but judging by this year's flu strain those who catch it will know what flu is compared to a cold.

That said, Twista could have caught two different strains. It can happen.
 
Havnet ate in 3 days (i eat with a cold)
Had a fever.. (slept one night with my A/C going.. i just had to i was dying)

muscles are hurting still.
(took 4ever to get a shirt and pants b/c i was cold and had chills. The clothes was right there but i couldnt just get it)

(i bet its school thats passing this. The same icky cough as for abunch of kids, but they may have something else.)
 
I don't think I've ever gotten the flu.

Oh, and I hate the fact that people come to work/school when sick... Grrr. :|
 
Ayup, that sounds like real flu. Just bugs me when people have a sniffle and call it the flu, insulting to people who really are suffering through the flu to have a stuffy nose considered the same thing. Man you have bad luck 🙁

Didn't get sick at all last year, but this year I got a bit of it-- been a little stuffy for the last week, with a slightly soar throat. Seems to have hit about 50% of campus here (I'm sure my number is high).
 
I've heard that the flu strain going around this year is exceptionally bad compared to previous years. Something about it being pretty resistant to the vaccines, and causing a good deal more damage. Haven't gotten it yet, but I tend to catch something at least twice a year or so. Bleh.

They do have a flu test now, ya know? Swab a qtip in your nostril and 10 minutes later they come back and tell you whether or not you have the flu..

The strain that's going around now was not included in this year's flu vaccine.

I couldn't agree more, I've had the flu once in my adult life and shall not soon forget it, plenty of colds though.
People are funny they get a runny nose and it's "I'm dieing, I have the flu, heeeeeeeeelp me"
