Have you given anyone at work a nickname?

I like to make nicknames for people, and there is a guy at work that is very stupid.

Very stupid. Not only is he a wanna-be thug with the "yo dog" slang and the "fake ice" earrings, but he's just slow.

I started calling him Private Pyle. If you don't know what that means, watch "Full Metal Jacket". So now everyone calls him that.

The other day he was over by himself humming something. I asked him what he was doing, and he said, and I quote, "Private Pyle is getting down! Uhn, do the Private Pyle dance" and started dancing.

I really almost fell down laughing. ;)

I call one girl "Ralph" (from the simpsons, because she has to chime in on any conversation with the most worthless crap ever to come into a conversation).

I call another one "Donnie" (from The Big Lebowski, because she is always out of her element).

Or if you've been around awhile, you will recognize the reference to an old TV show Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C..

But yeah, have definitely given classmates and co-workers private nicknames, to make things more interesting.

They call me profit.

Better edit that quick, many people here don't like people in your profession. :p

LoL, I only call alumnis of my university. I guess tele-fundrasier would be more accurate.

Our computer logins are bastardizations of our initials, so if it has an easy pronunciation, we use that.

GEGM (ge-gum), JIK (jick), LESC (lesk), TOL (we actually call him T-LO), etc.

While I was at Ft. Benning, we called this one guy "Walking Death". Not because he was fierce or badass or anything, but because I don't think I've ever seen someone get so horribly sick and still be able to function...

When my best friend first came to our store, he transferred in from the store in Reno. I started calling him Reno and after awhile it caught on. Now if I refer to him as Chris, a good 50% of the people will not not know who I'm talking about until I tell them I mean "Reno".

Plenty of nicknames. Giving people witty nicknames are my favorite pastime. Ok not favorite, but I enjoy it greatly.

I give everyone a nickname (not to their face, of course)

"Jugs"
"Saddam"
"Unabomber"
"The Indian"
"Santa"
"Nomo"

etc.
