Have you ever upgraded the CPU in your laptop?

Yes, I've done it a couple times. Do your research first, make sure your motherboard will support the cpu that you want to upgrade to.

Check your documentation as far as how to disassemble your particular model, and go from there.

It all went as expected for me each time, better performance, and lower temps.

QFT! And, be sure and Google for the specific disassembly instructions for your particular model and brand. They are out there. It is also prudent to have had your warranty expire - that will also be a result of such a change.

Yep, I know which chipset my laptop has and what CPUs it can take. I also have found the how-to videos on HP's web site. I will have a go at it within in a week or so.
