A bad video card screw up a motherboard? I had a 7900GTX that was DOA and after removing it and putting my 7800GTX back in, i get no video or post. Called asus and they say it sounds like bad board, i just want to know if its possible the card toasted my board and if so how does that happen?

umm, I never heard of something like this but im sure its possible. if the card had a short somewhere the PCI-express slot might be screwed.

man does that suck. good luck.

Well the card gave a really distorted/artifacted screen upon boot, I shutdown immediately, removed and resinserted, same thing. Then moved to another slot on the board (Asus A8N Sli Premium) Verified power supply in another machine as well as memory, also tried another pcie card in the system, I have it narrowed down to cpu or board, and since in my experience cpu dont go bad anywhere near as bad as boards, Im RMA'ing the board. anyone else with more info on the subject would be appreciated.
