Have you ever seen someone eat something so spicy that they had hiccups?

I just saw this today. We went to the nearby Wingstop and ordered 10 atomic wings (in addition to my favorite, garlic parmesean, and some regulars).

I had two and my mouth felt like it was on fire. Had three glasses of milk and about 25 minutes of delusional fiery pain. One of my friends had one and had severe hiccups every few minutes. Another had 2 and had even worse hiccups.

It was bizarre. Has anyone else experienced this?

Happens to me whenever I eat something really spicy. Minor annoyance mostly, a quick something to drink and they stop.

I  Wingstop. I eat there every time I go to Dallas.

I usually get the hiccups when I eat bread.

I've seen hiccups that have been caused by spicy foods. I've never had them myself, but I've seen it happen to others.

Happens to me all the time when I eat REALLY HOT jalapenos or serrano peppers...I always figured my stomach is rebelling, and trying to get rid of whatever is offending it...so I eat something less spicy, (sour cream, quacamole, tortillas) and drink lots of cold liquid refreshement....goes away.

No, but I got flaming horrible diarrhea the day after eating several of these mini peppers we found in a lady's back yard in Mexico. Unfortunately, we were visiting this island where you had to pay to use the bathrooms.

nothing in your post makes sense. WTF why would you eat poppers that were thrown in someones yard and obviously garbage, and then went to somewhere where you had to pay for a bathroom.. something tells me you're partially retarded

Ive never had hiccups... After I had accidentally eaten some Thai peppers, I had a "knife going through tongue" feeling, I was sweating profusely, and my ears were ringing.

I spent one summer slowly building up a tolerance to the hottest of all hot peppers... habaneros. Plus, I was able to take a teaspoon of Dave's Insanity sauce and just swish it around in my mouth and swallow it without a tear in my eyes. It was great, because then I could sucker more people to taste the stuff; most people turn into complete pansies, requiring "three glasses of milk" and suffering "for about 25 minutes of delusional fiery pain."

But, towards the end of the summer, suddenly I'd get the most violent hiccups when I ate super spicy food. Now, the about the hottest I can have without my insides trying to escape is tobasco sauce. Anything hotter, and I suffer from painful hiccuping.

Hmmm, if you read his post, they ate PEPPERS that they found in some lady's yard, (presumably still growing), NOT in the garbage...maybe it's YOU who's partially (or more )retarded...

yes, after eating a habanero pepper straight out of the ground. I do not recommend this by the way.

The only pepper left that I haven't tried that is hot is the Bhut Jolokia, and that is the newly discovered: "hottest in the world" pepper, btw it grows in India, and is hotter than the weak Habanero pepper. and dispite eating all but this new pepper, I've never had any problems

Sometimes when I eat spicy food I get the hiccups. It is really annoying because I like spicy foods. So far the hiccups go away five to ten minutes after I stopped eating.
