Have you ever saved someone's life?

Well thats cool that people do and all, but to me personally it seems bringing it up is like saying how much you do for charity. Both are a private matter as far as I am concerned, but hey, not everyone is me.

Jr year in college, I was in the sailing club. A new girl showed up, got in a boat by herself, and somehow got in the water. Well, turned out she couldn't swim! I saw she was drowning from the shore, jumped in and saved her butt! 😀

 for me.

Nothing wrong with sharing stories.

5th grade, I performed the Heimlich maneuver on a kid that was choking on a Doritos chip. When I was 13, I pulled a toddler from a pond and cleared his airway. The mother was too drunk to do or think about anything.

I tried to save a guy who was suffocating in snow - he was stuck head-down in a conical hole about 4 feet deep. Several of us passers-by frantically pulled and dug and tried every sane thing we could think of to get him out, but he died. When the fire department arrived, it took six strong men to pull his body out. I relate this story because it has affected me ever since. We were so sure we would pull him out in time and resuscitate him, and then we failed and lost him. I know it was not my fault we lost him, but it still is heart rending and I expect I'll feel that way forever. I would still try to help anyone in need.

i agree, these kind of things are better left unsaid.

I saved my swim buddy during a combat dive while in the Teams. He lost his nerve afterwards and left shortly thereafter.

that's another reason why many famous people aren't noted till they are dead, they don't like lots of publicity in a way I suppose, I agree with that statement

Twice at auto accidents when I was the 1st responder, I believe what I did saved two peoples lives according to what the doctors said later.

Do you think he let him die on purpose? If they couldnt get to him in time, they just couldnt-- they didnt let him die. That sucks heavily though:/
