Well... there's always a call to the Postal Inspector's office... That might be a response.

I got a card on my car one time that had hearts all over it with my name on it. When I opened it up it was in a girl's handwriting and it said stuff like "we're going to get you, we know where you live. Don't ever be alone because we have people that will handle you." They told me what an idiot I was, and that I can't escape them, and they are always watching me. It was signed WOM. I've never been able to find out who the hell did it.

Probably not much you can do. Just tell your wife to watch her ass ;)
Hope you don't get another one :)

Kinda what those folks do for a living.

It's probably just some goofball. Get a SigSauer P226, load it to the hilt, and watch her A**

I certainly watch my wife's A** - and quite enjoy it. :)

That sucks, sorry you are having to deal with such stupidity!

toolgirl is right, at least for now. Chances are good it is just someone trying to scare you, but you never know. However, I find that having a home security system is more than just a luxury... so many creeps and weirdoes that I want an alarm to go off if they even think about messing with me! It is well worth the expense. If you can't afford it, a big, mean dog is also a good deterrent.

I've been looking at different kinds of firearms and am going to buy one and learn how to use it very, very soon. I won't care if someone is 'just kidding'... I take any threats to me or my family very seriously.

I guess your best defense is a good offense.

trimv2,

I got that same card on my car, but the initials were NWM!

I still can't figure out who it was. I did see some guy with long hair wearing a shirt with a big fist on it hanging out by my car, but I swear the handwriting was from a girl!

Isla, in regards to firearms for home defense I cannot recommend that. In the event of a home invasion it would be best to aviod confrontation and not "go in with guns a-blazin'" I would move to a secure portion of the house, preferably a spot where there is only 1 entrance, which will be covered by your firearm. Use a phone (cellular preferred) to notify the authorities and let the intruder know that you're armed and not afraid to use your weapon.

Thanks for the advice, prodigy. :) I've imagined the scenario a few times already, and I know just where I will go! Cell phone in hand, too. :)

My biggest worry is that my repressed anger and aggression will enjoy pumping several rounds of bullets into his twitching, squirting body.

:D

Actually, my first line of defense is the home security system. I doubt anything else will ever be needed, but I want to be prepared just in case. My dad always had a gun and taught me to respect it. I would not be afraid to use it to protect myself or my family, but that would be as a last resort.

Just make sure it stays in the house... :Q

...and they wonder why we allow guns in this country.

Charlton Heston - now that... would be a PRESIDENT!

I guess Prodigy is right, in a situation like that I don't think I would be calm enough to remember not to just try to take him out and ask questions later.

Thanks DanC, I see my firearms safety course was good for something ;).

Isla, if anyone tried to do anything to my family, without a doubt that would give me the greatest satisfaction, but death is not always the answer for me at least. I would rather him suffer some years of his life away behind bars.
